Synopsis

Tom Hollland, hastening to the Maine lodge of his uncle to keep an engagement with the latter's wife, who has important information on certain valuable papers, finds the house in apparent readiness.

Close on his heels come his affianced and her friend, Dr. Sara Walters, seeking an explanation for his visit.

The appearance of a constable in search of rumors, the added presence of a mysterious Hindu servant, are as nothing compared with the accidental discovery that the uncle, supposedly on his way to Europ has been killed in the very room where the rest of the party are revealed.

Not until the final curtain is the situation cleared up, with a "kick" that is too good to reveal here.

Produced at the Lyric Theater, New York.
