Synopsis
Staying with Edwin and Ernestine Stoatt at Christmas are sister Louise, cousin Max and David who's engaged to Louise.
Rose Adair, member of a theatrical company comes and asks for Max's help.
The manager's absconded and she's penniless and pursued by a landlady and by an unscrupulous actor.
She sees David instead of Max and they fall in love.
Finally, they all go off in pursuit of the landlady.
To get money for Rose's rent, Max and David attempt to get it from Edwin and their attempts involve Edwin in complications witnessed by Ernestine.
But after other hilarious episodes Peace on Earth is established.
Louise releases David from his engagement so she can marry Max and David and Rose end up in each others arms.
