Synopsis

An old story is portrayed in a new way.

The play examines the ancient parable of the Good Samaritan in terms of its contemporary significance.

To this end the playwright brings together the four principal characters of the Biblical parable.

This time, however, the setting is not a deserted stretch of road between Jerusalem and Jericho, but the inn where the wounded man was taken.

Here, in a scene that builds to a dramatic climax, the wounded man probes to find the reason for the indifference or compassion that motivated the Priest, the Levite, and the Samaritan who passed him in the desert.

In addition to the Biblical characters there are also two narrators whose incisive observations and comments bring the play's message to the heart of the listener with startling relevance.
