Synopsis
ON THE ROAD WITH HARRY AND BESS tells the story of a road trip taken by Harry and Bess Truman in June and July of 1953, a few months after Harry’s presidency ended.
It was just the two of them in Harry’s new Chrysler New Yorker—two very famous Americans trying really hard to be “just folks.”
This road-trip play explores both 1950s America, and Harry and Bess’s special relationship – one based on love, honesty, partnership, and humor.
