Stage Door (Revised Edition)
George S Kaufman
Produced in New York City with Tallulah Bankhead.
Muriel Flood is an actress - a flamboyant, spangled, but still lonely young woman bothered with the problem of what she should do with her heart and her career.
She thinks she should get married, settle down, and vegetate, but the young man in question doesn't understand the stage, and Muriel's wise and clever manager gets her back to New York and the stage before she has gone too far.
But in New York she manages to convince herself that she is in love with a young Chicagoan wants to guide her life, but again the manager steps in and saves Muriel.
Her love comes to see her and in a touching scene Muriel realizes that there is really nothing for her but the stage - and there never can be.
Reflected Glory is a comedy play written by George Kelly and published by Samuel French .
