This third musical from the highly-successful team of Ken Bolam, Roy Oakes and Les Scott, is rich in humour-both visual and verbal-and with its appealing score of rousing, tuneful songs makes it an exuberant must for all schools and youth groups Merton United FC is a mediocre Second Division club but when the team reach the FA Cup Semi-Final the effect produced on the town is devastating.

For the Merton males football becomes the total obsession to the increasing fury of the Merton female population who find themselves ignored and taken for granted.

Cup fever reaches its climax as a TV crew arrive in town and girl friends and wives decide it's time to make their presence felt by announcing they are going on strike.

Chaos rapidly ensues as the men are left to do the household chores and cooking, but determined not to accept defeat the two sides become united against each other.

After a series of comic twists, all is happily resolved on Cup Final day and the whole town of Merton unites behind its team who, of course, can't do anything except win the Cup!
