Synopsis

The highlights of a love relationship and the tensions against the relationship are vividly portrayed in this touching play.

The young couple, Mary Pat and Tom, separated by the disturbing events of their lives - college failure, unemployment and military service - renew their love by remembering their early courtship days, the advice of Tom's father and that of their high school teacher, Miss Copeland, who had given them an inspiration by which to live.

Using an experimental technique, the chorus is transformed into children, wedding guests and soldiers.

Relevant and nostalgic all at once, this is a tremendously exciting play for competition use.
