Last Leaf, The
William Glennon
Lavinia Breckenridge is a small town social leader and family matriarch.
She's charming, cultured, unconventional - and in many ways younger than her children.
Her sometimes outlandish projects embarrass and concern them.
Then she decides to have her funeral while she and her friends are still around to enjoy it.
This unusual event is opposed by her family, the minister who's asked to officiate, and others.
The son's efforts to prevent the "funeral" come to naught and Lavinia triumphantly leaves to attend her own funeral.
The Last Leaf (Claiborn & Banks) is a comedy play written by Frances Banks and published by Samuel French .
