Tucaret
Alain-rene Lesage
On Broadway, Anthony Quinn and Margaret Leighton took the roles of a rude construction worker and society lady who have only one thing in common: the affair that exists between his wife and her husband, a physician.
The play examines the sometimes humorous but ultmately disasterous effect of the affair on the worker and the lady.
They take an apartment together, in a platonic fashion; and in scenes of fantasy and absurdity, they issue their declaration of independence from, and disgust with, the world.
