Synopsis
Traveling through an enchanted forest, the knight-errant Hans falls in love with a water sprite named Ondine, despite his engagement to a woman of the court.
Ondine's supernatural relatives are skeptical of the match, so Ondine wagers with Hans's life: should he betray her, he will die.
Once married and living in Hans's world of courtly intrigue, trouble quickly threatens the young lovers' happiness.
