Hail Mary!
Tom Dudzick

It’s the 10th century!
A plague rages on in Germany!
Everyone is turning into foam!
When two overzealous hermits find an abandoned orphan named Mary, they scheme a saintly rescue mission to protect her purity at any and all costs.
Mary, however, has other plans for herself, in this new play inspired by Hrotsvitha of Gandersheim’s closet drama-comedy Abraham, or the Rise and Repentance of Mary.
"Critics’ Pick! Mary Gets Hers bewitches the gaze...Spiky and adventurous...Mary is herself a multifaceted marvel of a heroine, metamorphosing before our eyes as if in a time-lapse video."
— The New York Times
"Mary Gets Hers is wacky and winking, big on slapstick-and-clown-inspired physicality and, when it’s at its best, totally charming."
— New York Magazine
