Synopsis

Do miracles still happen?

Can faith heal?

What do senior citizens really need?

Is the church inclusive or exclusive?

These are questions raised by this series of amusing yet pointed playlets, each 12 to 15 minutes in length, and affording roles for 7 women, 4 men.

No set is required, and only the simplest of props.

Problems arise as two-person teams arrive in an empty church in the midnight to dawn hours.

Their assignment: to see if the stone statue of a saint really weeps, or are the tears supplied by a prankster.

The oddly-assorted teams include a dowager and a homeless man, a divorced couple, a society wannabe and a prankster in a wheelchair, a minister and his estranged daughter, a hard-as-nails reporter and a young teacher anxious to believe in healings.

Each playlet is complete in itself and can be used alone or in company with the others.

Wickedly witty but always with an important point to raise, the Curious Vigil will add sparkle, whether your goal is worship or discussion.

No one will nod for a second during these playlets!
