The Literati Awards
Ian McWethy
Every year, the Ego Awards take Hollywood by storm.
Hosted by Roxy Rogers, America's #1 actress and comedienne ”think Leona Helmsley ... without the compassion!”the Egos are an international event.
This year, however, Roxy has begged off because her ex-husband is up for Best Actor and she can't stomach seeing him win - or seeing him, period!
Finally, Roxy agrees to host, but only if the show is broadcast from her hometown of Ragweed, Kansas, where surely her ex-husband will not return!
Or will he?
The only place that could hold such an event, however, is the Ragweed High School Auditorium.
Locals, including a three-fingered shop teacher, get involved with the crew.
The orchestra's instruments got lost in transit.
It's the reluctance of nominees and presenters to even come to Ragweed, though, that has the director ready to pull his hair plugs out!
Yet the show must go on, and it does, in this wonderful parody of every TV awards ceremony you've ever seen - and this won't run long!
