Synopsis

Sir Loddon, MP, is bringing a libel suit against a London newspaper that printed a story claiming he was neither a baronet nor a Loddon.

The case against him is not unreasonable.

He resembed another prisoner of war in Germany quite a bit, both disappeared, and due to shell shock he can remember nothing of his life before the war.

His wife even comes to the point where she doubts him, too.

With fine ingenuity, Mr. Wooll manipulates the theatrical details of his story to weave an exciting and interesting courtroom melodrama.
