Just The Ticket!

Synopsis

Harry is a zealous traffic warden, whose eccentric hobbies of collecting stuffed birds and folk dancing cause great friction between him and his wife.

Bad-tempered Gran's constant criticism of Harry does not improve matters.

Also Harry's daughter, Ruby, is engaged to weedy Gerald who finds he has an allergy to the birds.

However, Harry's hobby seemingly pays off when he returns home with an owl which is stuffed with hundreds of pounds

Enthusiastic plans are made for the wedding and new furniture is installed.

But when Inspector Travis of the C.I.D. arrives, Harry discovers he has been freely spending stolen money, and to his family's dismay he is led off to the police station.

Fortunately, he proves his innocence, only to land himself in further trouble with his wife when he returns home gleefully drunk from the Folk Festival Club's anniversary get-together with his arm round the neck of a stuffed ostrich.
