Synopsis

A pair of modern playwrights married to work out life and art together.

After a few flops on the stage, their marriage found its own denouement in the divorce courts.

Now each is writing a new play on his own, and submits it to their mutual friend, a prominent producer.

It is not surprising that each has written the basically same play.

Whens they find out, they are mutually enraged and sue each other for plagiarism.

The producer and the amiable judge persuade the couple to collaborate, for it seems that each one contributed materially to the idea of the play while they were married.

They tear into the play with a begrudging vengeance.

But soon they are back in their familiar groove, and their current romantic affairs are left standing on the stoop.

The play they write is good, and promises to be a big hit; and for the first time they are afraid.

For they realize that they would rather have a happy life together than all the success in the world.

They skip friends and the premiere for a second honeymoon at a resort.

Penned by the author of Goodbye, My Fancy for Celeste Holm and Robert Preston.
