Synopsis

"What is your jewel to him?

He cares nothing for gold or silver and would leave them in the ground where they belong!" It's only when young Robbie frees Kong, a huge mountain gorilla, from the city zoo that he finds a companion strong enough to stand against the evil witch who has stolen away his brother.

But Robbie too falls under the witch's spell, leaving only his Granny and the Gorilla to fight on.

His Granny fears all is lost until she begins to understand that Kong is one of the great kings of the world's magic... A funny and magical play for all the family.

Press Reviews

"You won't see such a captivating tale anywhere else this year... Stuart Paterson's all-new play draws on the traditional battle of good versus evil, but cleverly weaves it into a contemporary setting, putting over an unobtrusive message about the nobility of nature... Scarab The Witch oozes wickedness but the greatest spell of all is cast by the mountain gorilla and star of the show... an entirely credible ape grunting and lolloping and capturing the audience's mesmerised attention... Paterson tells the story with his typical lack of condescension making a Christmas show that is truly enjoyable for all ages"
