Kindness
Adam Rapp
When Alex learns his mother's health is slipping, he takes his wife and two young sons on a harried subway ride from their Manhattan apartment to Brooklyn.
Upon their arrival, they find Alex's fragile sister on the brink of a breakdown herself: she informs him that their mother hasn't eaten in days and insists on staying in bed.
The worried family scrambles to help her, even calling an ambulance that she refuses to ride in, until an EMS supervisor puts his finger on the real problem and gets the matriarch of the family up on her feet and back into her life in this honest and humorous look at the way families work.
