This collection includes three short plays: LONE PILOTS OF ROOSEVELT FIELD by Kim Rosenstock, THE ART OF PRESERVATION by Susan Soon He Stanton, and LEARNING RUSSIAN by Michael Mitnick.
LONE PILOTS OF ROOSEVELT FIELD: After receiving an unexpected phone call, Misty returns home for the first time in seven years only to find herself confronting the ghosts of her past in a shopping mall on Valentine's Day.
Armed with a pink bra in one hand and a braid of hair in the other, she searches for a meaningful human connection in front of Applebee's.
THE ART OF PRESERVATION by Susan Soon He Stanton: Two outsiders, Dado and Desiree, have known each other all their lives in a small town on Kauai.
But not until they find themselves trapped together in a library basement during a storm do they finally confront their shared childhood, struggling to negotiate their futures while honoring their past.
LEARNING RUSSIAN by Michael Mitnick: Daniel's life is in the toilet — his cartoonist career is a failure, his girlfriend has dumped him for a physical therapist and, to top it off, he suspects his identity has been stolen.
But with the arrival of a mysterious stranger, Daniel begins to discover that his wildest dreams are coming true.
The only problem: he insists he's not doing any of it.
LEARNING RUSSIAN explores the day between who we were yesterday and who we will become tomorrow.
