Synopsis

The Boston Theater Marathon is the winner of a 2000 Elliot Norton Award and a Dramatists Guild Citation for its work in forging relationships between playwrights and theatre companies all over New England.

Now an annual tradition in Boston, the BTM utilizes hundreds of actors and dozens of directors to sponsor 50 ten-minute plays in 10 hours (that s five plays per hour), each one supported by a different New England theatre company.

"An astonishing array of imaginative worlds... a delicious dose of theater... a jaw-dropping collection of talent...

" Boston Herald "Other places have 10-minute play evenings and the like, but as far as I know, a play marathon that brings together a city s entire theatre community in all its reaches exists nowhere else."

Playwright Russell Lees"What is always exciting about the Boston Theater Marathon's festival of 10-minute plays is seeing new playwrights emerge, watching familiar ones spread their wings in new directions, and sitting in a theater with dyed-in-the-wool stage enthusiasts."

Theater Mania"The Boston Theater Marathon — now in it's eleventh year — sends wave after wave of thespian talent representing some fifty theater companies to stalk the boards of the BCA's Stanford Calderwood Pavilion for ten grueling, glorious hours of 10-minute plays.

Should you find yourself deficient in Vitamin D(rama) this May, this tasty horse pill of a showcase will have you right as rain in no time."
