Lori Goodman is a native New Yorker who has been writing on and off for over thirty years. Her work has been performed throughout the country and internationally. Her play Touch is a tribute to the power of hope and courage in the often-overlooked senior population. Unlike many stories about older adults that either begin or end with death by cancer or Alzheimer’s, Lori writes about people who take chances in life, not because they face imminent death but because there is still so much life in them. She was awarded a grant from the Lower Manhattan Cultural Council for Touch, and her play Seven Days in the Garden was selected by the Great Plains Theater Commons (GPTC) for their Play Lab series.
