Alonzo D. Lamont, Jr., is a native of Baltimore, Maryland, who has lived in Atlanta, Georgia, and Washington, D.C. Mr. Lamont has had a long and productive relationship with Jomandi Productions in Atlanta. This association has produced the premiere of several works: THE BLACK PLAY in 1979 (revived at The Academy Theatre in Atlanta in 1986) and 21ST CENTURY OUTS in 1985. THE BLACK PLAY was performed for the Lincoln Center Out-of-Doors Festival in 1986. Mr. Lamont has been the recipient of playwriting fellowships from both Florida and Washington, D.C. He is a 1975 graduate of Marlboro College, Marlboro, Vermont, and received his Master of Fine Arts from The University of Iowa.
