The Outsiders on Broadway
The story that defined a generation is reimagined as a Broadway musical. Winner of four Tony Awards including Best Musical and two Drama Desk Awards, The Outsiders is adapted from S.E. Hinton's seminal novel and Francis Ford Coppola's film, and plays at the Bernard B. Jacobs Theatre.
In Tulsa, Oklahoma in 1967, Ponyboy Curtis, his best friend Johnny Cade and their Greaser family of outsiders clash with their affluent rivals, the Socs. The musical navigates self-discovery as the Greasers dream about who they want to become in a world that may never accept them. It features a book by Adam Rapp with Justin Levine, music and lyrics by Jamestown Revival and Justin Levine, and direction by Tony Award winner Danya Taymor.
What to Expect
Expect a contemporary musical with a dynamic original score and a story of friendship, family and belonging. The New York Post called it the best new musical of the season.
