What is A Few Good Men about?

A Few Good Men is Aaron Sorkin's classic drama about corruption within the U.S. military. At the U.S. naval base at Guantanamo Bay, two young Marines stand accused in the death of a fellow Marine, and the military lawyers assigned to defend them begin to suspect the men were following orders. As the case moves toward trial, the defense uncovers a cover-up that reaches high into the chain of command. The play builds to one of the most famous courtroom confrontations in American drama, a battle over truth, honor and the orders soldiers are given.

It is a story about whether following orders can ever excuse a crime, and about the young lawyers who risk their careers to find out what really happened. Expect the crackling, rapid-fire dialogue that made Sorkin's name.

Is this the original production?

This is a Broadway revival. A Few Good Men premiered on Broadway in 1989, launched Aaron Sorkin's career, and inspired the celebrated 1992 film. Sorkin went on to become one of the most admired writers of his generation, on stage and screen alike, and this drama remains the work where his voice first announced itself. The 2026 production, directed by Michael Arden, brings the script back to Broadway for a new generation of audiences.

Who stars in the revival?

Bradley Whitford and Tom Blyth lead the announced cast. Whitford is a longtime Sorkin collaborator, best known to many as Josh Lyman in The West Wing, while Blyth has become one of the most watched young actors on screen. As with any Broadway run, casting can change over the course of the engagement.

Where is A Few Good Men playing?

The revival plays the Vivian Beaumont Theater at Lincoln Center, 150 West 65th Street, on the Upper West Side of New York. Part of the Lincoln Center campus, the Beaumont gives this courtroom drama a grand Broadway home a short walk from Central Park.
