Synopsis
On a bare stage of a summer theatre, this week's visiting star, Emily Haven, is about to audition Nancy, protege of an old friend who teaches drama at a nearby college.
The actress learns that the teacher and Nancy's mother have fought over the girl's career and that the audition is to determine her future.
Emily resents this, and in a tense scene exposes the selfishness of the two women who want to live their lives over again in the girl.
