Tracy Wells has loved seeing stories come to life on stage for as long as she can remember. In high school, she was able to tread the boards herself in a few starring roles in her drama department. Alas, like her character in A Chorus Line, Kristine, she couldn’t really sing, so she learned the value of a great non-musical script and the way that a play can touch the lives of an audience through the writers’ words and the what the actor brings to the stage. It wasn’t until years later that Tracy tried her hand at writing. Her husband Eric is a middle school and high school theater director, and he needed large cast plays to use with his students. After writing an adaptation of O. Henry’s The Gift of the Magi, Tracy decided to send it in for publication. Thus, a new career in playwriting was born.
