About this show

Book Just in Time tickets on Broadway

Book Just in Time tickets for the Bobby Darin musical at Circle in the Square Theatre, where the auditorium is turned into a 1960s nightclub and the story plays out all around you. Darin was the singer behind "Beyond the Sea," "Splish Splash," "Dream Lover" and "Mack the Knife," and the show follows his rise from teen idol to one of the biggest entertainers of his era, with a live band on stage for the whole evening.

The musical was developed and directed by Tony Award winner Alex Timbers (Moulin Rouge!), with a book by Warren Leight and Isaac Oliver, based on an original concept by Ted Chapin. It opened at Circle in the Square in April 2025 and earned six Tony Award nominations. Along the way you meet the women who shaped Darin's life, including the pop star Connie Francis and his wife, the actress Sandra Dee.

Who plays Bobby Darin?

Bobby Darin is a rotating star role. Jonathan Groff created it, Jeremy Jordan played it until 18 October 2026, Matthew Morrison is back for a limited run until 8 November 2026, and Nicholas Christopher takes over from 10 November 2026. Casting can change, so if a particular star is the reason you are booking, check our Bobby Darin cast tracker for the latest dates before you choose a performance.

What to know before you go

Just in Time lasts about 2 hours and 30 minutes, including one intermission. The production recommends it for ages 10 and up, and children under 8 are not admitted to the theatre. The show uses a gunshot sound effect.

Performances begin on time and there is no late seating, so plan to arrive at least 30 minutes early. If you leave your seat during the performance, you will not be let back in. Bags are checked at the door, and anything you bring in must fit on your lap or under your seat.

Your mobile tickets are emailed to you before the performance, and the delivery date is shown on your booking confirmation. Tickets cannot be cancelled or rescheduled once booked, so check the date, time and seats carefully before you pay.

Where to sit for Just in Time

Circle in the Square has a thrust stage with the audience on three sides, and for Just in Time part of the stage becomes nightclub tables. Table seats put you inside the club, close to the performers and the band. Regular Orchestra seats around the stage give a wider view of the whole staging, and no seat is far from the action. Our Just in Time Broadway guide compares the tables and the regular seats in more detail.

Getting to Circle in the Square Theatre

The theatre is at 235 West 50th Street, between Broadway and Eighth Avenue, a short walk from the 50th Street subway stations on the 1 and C/E lines. The auditorium is below street level and is reached by escalator or stairs. Staff can take you to an accessible elevator, and wheelchair spaces and companion seats are in the Orchestra. Hearing assistance, including loop technology, is available. Looking for more shows on the same trip? Browse our Broadway tickets.

What the critics say

The New York Times
“Dismayed as I was to endure so much else, I have to admit he’s giving one of Broadway’s best performances.”
Jesse GreenRead review
The New York Times
“Just in Time deals with the difference between image and reality...It’s finally about the joy of performance, and the escapism it provides not just for an audience but for a performer as well”
Adam FeldmanRead review
Variety
““Contrary to its title, ‘Just in Time’ is anything but timely, since the window of Darin’s relevancy has long gone.””
Christian LewisRead review
The Washington Post
“It’s another magnificent performance — kind-eyed, honey-voiced and all but irresistible.”
Naveen KumarRead review
New York Post
““ 'Just in Time' is a wallop of joy, though. And while it doesn’t shy away from Darin’s heart struggles, anatomically and romantically, the musical is never gloomy.”
Johnny OleksinskiRead review
TheaterScene.net
“Groff is simply sensational, charming as himself and astonishing in his revelatory Darin.”
Joel BenjaminRead review
Lighting & Sound America
“...one of the most sensational musical theatre performances I've ever seen.”

“A moment worth holding on to.”
Mason PilevskyRead review
New York Theatre Guide
“With an exuberant band, Just in Time rides easy on Groff’s waves of showman charisma while paying tribute to the era-specific music and other singers, especially the women in Darin’s life who inspired his performance”
Caroline CaoRead review
Theatermania
““Naturally, though, it’s Groff’s energy and charisma that anchor Just in Time.””
Kenji FujishimaRead review
New York Theater
“Groff in effect stars in a nightclub act, combining his talents and charm with his subject”
Jonathan MandellRead review
Critic review
“‘Just in Time’ feels rejuvenated by Jeremy Jordan, who seems tailor-made to play Bobby Darin, a legend with a golden voice, a hard-charging style, and charm to spare. ★★★★☆”
Thom GeierRead review
Critic review
“While it’s hard to resist Jonathan Groff’s considerable charms, he struggles to sell us on Bobby Darin’s cockiness or callousness in this by-the-numbers biomusical”
