Cristobal Colon (also known as Christopher Columbus) dreams of the Golden Indies -- a fantasy vision that drives him to sail across the unknown Western Sea.

There he meets the young Guati, who has also dreamed of seeing unknown worlds beyond his island.

As they travel between the New World and the court of Queen Isabel, however, their voyage brings them more regret than glory.

This wise and imaginative play, at times hilarious and deeply sad, powerfully explores the result of Colon's failure to understand what he has truly discovered.
