Synopsis

As Jack and Josie Delaney prepare to send their mentally retarded 18 year old Joey to a state school, their older son comes home to challenge their decision.

Joey, with his quiet courage, teaches his bright and charming but irresponsible older brother Donal how to be man enough to face the consequences of life.

Press Reviews

"A fine feeling for the strands of guilt and love that constantly tear families apart and keep them together at the same time.... These are real people, not saints or devils. If, by the time the play ends, on an upbeat note, you sense some moisture about the eyes ... it is because you have just been visiting with neighbors, perhaps, or friends and seen the terrible bind life has put them in."
