Synopsis

From the first crash at the Towers to a last goodbye at Ground Zero, 110 Stories takes us through 9/11 as told by those who were there.

Based on interviews, this docu-play weaves together stories not shown on the news, from people we can relate to... a mother, a photojournalist, an ironworker, a chiropractor, and a homeless man who saved lives that day.

Their unflinching, freaked-out and occasionally funny accounts take us back to when 9/11 was unimaginable, capturing the shock and horror of the day as well as the resilience of New York City in its aftermath.

110 Stories memorializes September 11th by humanizing history to reveal our innate compassion.

The play’s 26 characters can be performed by as few as eight actors.

The author has created a 2024 update of the play, available digitally upon request, along with three Alternate Editions of this update, carefully curated to be suitable for younger actors and family audiences as follows: Alternate Edition (Softened Language) Alternate Edition (Softened/Faith-Conscious Language) Alternate Edition (Softened/Faith-Conscious Language with Reduced Violence) Competition versions of the play are available for both 40-minute and 60-minute one-act competitions , including as an Alternate Edition (Softened/Faith-Conscious Language with Reduced Violence).

We are proud to work with our authors to create opportunities for student actors to engage with relevant material in an age-appropriate manner.
