Surely Goodness and Mercy
Chisa Hutchinson
In this charming play written by a high school student, a young girl with Downs Syndrome is on a Christian retreat with a group of friends.
While there, she is treated cruelly and ridiculed by a malicious boy who simply does not want to be there.
His taunts and barbs plague the group of youngsters, and the boy even sways another boy into participating in his rude behavior.
The group does their best to enjoy their weekend by ignoring Phillip.
Arianne's amazing ability to find compassion for this cruel lad is a testimony to the girl's steadfast faith and her understanding of "loving thine enemy."
