"It smells funny," says Michael when his family moves to the country.
"There's nothing to hear," says Montgomery, "and no stores with candy and ice cream."
"Where do you skate?" says Margaret.
"There's nothing to do."
Then they meet Junket, an enterprising Airedale dog, who leads them on a trail of exciting experiences.
Unfortunately, Father has ruled "Positively No Animals Allowed" - - and the children are hard put to justify their new friend, until Junket takes the entire matter into his own hands.
