Synopsis

Trey Parker’s Cannibal: The Musical is the true story of the only person convicted of cannibalism in America: Alfred Packer.

The sole survivor of an ill-fated trip to the Colorado Territory, he tells his side of the harrowing tale to news reporter Polly Pry as he awaits his execution.

And his story goes like this: While searching for gold and love in the Colorado Territory, he and his companions lost their way and resorted to unthinkable horrors, including toe-tapping songs!

Press Reviews

"It's finger-licking good, a tasty 90 minutes of yummy production numbers and intense spiritual crises... it will take a truly jaded soul to push away from the table before this often hilarious meal is over. Bon appetit!"

— San Francisco Examiner

"Unafraid to poke fun of itself, and with many pop culture references, Cannibal! The Musical is a delicious treat for everyone."

— Best of Toronto

"The songs are great, the choreography enthusiastic and fun, and even miscues – like a laughing corpse – add to the meta energy of the play... In a word, Trey Parker’s Cannibal! The Musical is distasteful. Deliciously so."

— Toronto Sun

"Before there was South Park, Baseketball or Orgazmo, there was this Rocky Mountain freakout from the fevered imaginations of Parker and Stone, a rousingly lowbrow retelling of the legend of Colorado cannibal Alferd Packer and his bizarre culinary gifts... It's a ridiculous, over-the-top carnival of gore, sophomorically sly humor, and cheese-whiz choreography that manages – above all odds – to be cheerily invigorating as well."

— Austin Chronicle

"Long before Matt Stone and Trey Parker introduced the world to the potty-mouthed third graders of South Park (1993 to be exact), their twisted minds came up with a tasty (or tasteless, depending on who you ask) movie musical, made in the tradition of Friday the 13th Part 2 and Oklahoma!"
