Synopsis

In 1908, in a bedroom in Armitage, a small town in the hilly country of east Ohio, Samantha Casey has been waiting up all night for her husband Abner to come home.

There is trouble in their marriage, the root of which is that Ab is still haunted by his early love for a troubled girl named Darah Pelly who was married off to someone else for money.

His love for her has poisoned their marriage, and all her pent up frustration and anger bursts out at him as they finally try to deal with the issue they've never been able to talk about.

The difficult question is, why do we need to have all of another person?

Why can't we be satisfied with part of them?
