The Tobacco Club
by K T Curran, KT Curran

Synopsis
As the final bell rings on Friday and the school building empties out, a sullen group of students remain behind.
They enter Ms. Jordan's room to fulfill their eight weeks' detention for smoking on school property.
However, if each student fully participates in the discussion, Ms. Jordan might have the time reduced.
They are immediately compelled to discuss the first time they smoked, the growing addiction and the difficulty in breaking the habit, eventually revealing their most personal secrets.
Their lives become intertwined in a heart-wrenching journey towards self-awareness.
What will happen, though, when they discover a terrible secret about their trusted counselor?
At times funny, but always brutally honest, this story is inspired by real life stories.
Produced at Riverview High School in Sarasota, FL with a grant from the Sarasota County Tobacco Free Coalition.
