Synopsis
This scathing drama of "mother- love" gone awry portrays the lengths to which widowed Mrs. Phelps will go to keep her "boy's" attachment to- if not love for, her.
Though son Robert ultimately gives up a devoted fiancee and holds fast to the "silver cord" of affection for his mother, firstborn David brings home Christina, a woman who is not so easily dissuaded by The Widow Phelps' machinations in the name of love.
