Synopsis
During the final days of the American Civil War, young Mavis MacDonald must fight to unite the ragged group of friends and comrades hiding in her ruined farmhouse in Virginia.
When she takes in a wounded Yankee soldier, the safety of her new family is threatened – until a surprise arrival reveals all secrets and brings the promise of long-sought security.
