Synopsis
A tour de force for an actress, this classic opens with a woman saying goodbye to friends on the phone and and then rehearsing a speech she intends to deliver to her husband.
We come face to face with the awful truth: she is the Jewish wife of a Nazi scientist and she knows it is better for him if she goes away.
She knows it will be forever.
In the conversation that ensues, both pretend that she will only be going for a little while.
