Synopsis

This play employs cartoon-silly masks and slapstick characters from commedia dell,'arte drama to confront - with remarkable frankness - children's cruelty over racial differences.

A boy named Benno is rejected because his face mask is brown, while the other three kid's are pasty-pale white.

Benno runs away on an imaginary journey.

He meets colorfully hip variations on characters from commedia dell'arte.

It is a play that says it's better to look beyond the color of one's skin and it talks about being comfortable with who you are.

The music is a bit of funk and a lot of pop rock and full of spiky, splendid lyrics.
