Exceeding Small
by Caroline Francke

Synopsis
This sincere stage document is the story of a young couple, Gert and Ed, who encounter tragedy when they marry on a slender income.
Believing their love worth the effort, they take the chance, despite Gert's misgivings and the cynicism of their friends.
After a short period of happiness, Ed develops heart trouble.
Rather than carry on a hopeless struggle they agree to die together.
Their final mood is one of exaltation because the happiness they have had will not be tarnished by disillusionment.
For advanced casts.
An alternative ending is also printed, and either may be used.
