Synopsis
Two enlisted men cross paths then continue on to their respective destinies.
Ernest goes to war and meets death so that others may live.
August takes a wife and is blessed with a child, born on the day of Ernest's death and, keeping his promise to the dead man, conducts a celebratory funeral.
