Synopsis
...And Now Miguel is an adaptation of the Newbery Award winning novel of the same name by Joseph Krumgold, published by Harpercollins Children's Books.
This one set musical has a cast of 14, half youth, half adult.
However, it has had productions with as many as 35 people.
The story is set among a Hispanic sheep-herding extended family in the foothills of the Sangre de Cristo Mountains near Taos.
Twelve-year-old Miguel dreams of joining the men when they spend the entire summer in the high meadows grazing their sheep.
He makes a wish to Saint San Ysidro and gets his wish, but at a price he does not want to pay.
For adults, its story of the pains endured when children leave "the nest", for the youth, it's a story of growing up.
