E-commerce Dispatch Operatives – Two Seasonal Positions
£14.50 per hour | Full-time or part-time | East London
End of October to end of January

Looking for flexible work between creative projects, or haven’t landed a panto contract this year? Hand & Lock is looking for two reliable, enthusiastic people to help with e-commerce dispatch during our busy Christmas season.

We’ve had brilliant actors and musicians join us between jobs over the past two years, and we understand that working in the performing arts means balancing paid work with auditions, rehearsals and opportunities that can arrive at short notice.

These roles offer practical, hands-on work within a creative embroidery business, with a friendly team and flexibility around auditions and gigs. Both full-time and part-time hours are available.

What you’ll be doing

You’ll help get our online orders out to customers accurately and on time. Your day-to-day tasks will include:

  • Picking products and checking them against customer orders.

  • Checking quantities and quality before dispatch.

  • Packing orders neatly and securely.

  • Printing shipping labels and preparing parcels for collection.

  • Updating orders on our e-commerce systems.

  • Keeping stock, packaging and the dispatch area organised.

Who we’re looking for

You don’t need previous dispatch or embroidery experience—we’ll provide full training on our systems and packing requirements.

We’re looking for people who are dependable, organised and attentive to detail, with a willingness to get stuck in. If you’re used to learning quickly, working as part of a cast or crew and keeping calm when things get busy, you’ll bring plenty of useful skills to the role.

What we offer

  • £14.50 per hour.

  • Full-time or part-time hours.

  • An understanding of auditions and last-minute creative opportunities.

  • Full training and support from our workshop team.

  • Seasonal work from the end of October through to the end of January.

Both roles are based on-site at our East London workshop.

To apply, send us a CV or a short introduction with your availability, preferred hours and earliest start date. A performing arts CV is absolutely welcome.
