Synopsis

This brief, funny and moving play takes place in the bedroom which Caitlin, Minnie and Sherry, three teenage sisters, share in Armitage, a small town in east Ohio, in the year 1971.

Caitlin is the oldest and most practical of the sisters, Sherry the youngest and prettiest.

Minnie, the middle sister, has visions, and has just awakened from a dream with a revelation: they are all three actually witches, and everything else is a dream.

While Caitlin makes her best effort to get them up and dressed so they can go to their grandmother's funeral, Minnie tries to convince them they're witches and Sherry just wants to be somewhere else.

As Minnie goes on, quite emphatically, about their actual existence as witches, it begins to dawn on Caitlin that this is not about witches at all, but really about Minnie's attempt to cope with the loss of a beloved person who taught her to be strong and brave.

The three girls also appear in Nigro's Ida Lupino In The Dark , and Minnie alone in Centipedes .
