Synopsis

Mr. Denker has set his satirical sights on the never-never land of Hollywood, in a devastating roman a clef about a Hollywood agent who steals a top actress from his company and brings her to New York where he promises her big roles on the stage.

His real intention, however, is to raise her price for movie roles.

The plan backfires when the actress, who looks like Marilyn Monroe, enrolls at a "Method" school and becomes infatuated not only with it but with an important and studious playwright.
