A gentle romance develops and the newcomer soon realizes that the youngest faces not only the problem of his domineering family, but also the problem of his own personality which is being crushed.

Of course the family would like to see the boy conform, fall into the stiff pattern of their way of life; he is about to acquiesce when it is learned that, because of a clause in his late father's will, he, not his brothers and sister, controls the family's finances.

He learns to assert himself with the help of the young lady, and he turns on his oppressors in splendid, satisying and comic style.
