Not in the Book

Synopsis

A certain unpublished novel gives Andrew the idea of poisoning the blackmailer, but at the last minute he suffers a severe attack of conscience, and warns the blackmailer not to drink the poison.

But the blackmailer falls dead anyway, and the finger of guilt is pointed at Andrew.

This, happily, is only the beginning of the investigation, for the inspector finds other victims of the blackmailer as well.

Andrew will be a little more tolerant hereafter of other people's mistakes.

A sterling hit from England, thoroughly disarming in its humor.
