It's Been Wonderful
John Patrick
A fast, funny, frolic in the parlor of a New England publisher.
Caught up in this summer weekend folly are the publisher in middle-age crisis, his faithful wife of twenty-five years and his zany, naive but willing secretary.
This romatic comedy gets complicated by the arrival of three strange guests - a celebrated Swiss biologist, a flamboyant actress and her first and third husband who claims to be the world's greatest Bulgarian actor.
This uproarious, fast moving comedy of marital near infidelity defies easy classification in that it actually has six continuing characters but they are played by only one man and one woman.
"Fast but controlled, racy but elegant. . . . Leads one on a light hearted way from the word Go."
— The Weekend Review, Chicago
"...an evening of belly laughs. As refreshing as two scoops of daiquiri ice, it presents approximately the same level of mental challenge, but lasts longer and is much less fattening."
— Emily DeHuff - The Calendar
"...comedy has a sense of early Neil Simon about it..."
— Virginia Wicklund, Critiques Unique WDCB FM radio
