IDA.

Come on now.

That's enough of that silly jabber... (IDA leads AGNES from the room as AGNES hums what sounds a little like the I LOVE LUCY theme.) MAYHEW.

Characters

Character
Ida Strome

past 60 but still hail, hearty and sadistic. Ida knows more about the Mayhews than the law allows. She rivalved Agnes' beauty at one time, perhaps surpassed it, but time has not been kind to her outer self and she was never kind to her inner self, nor to time. In fact, she has never been kind to anyone or anything.

Curtis Mayhew

a handsome man whose vigor belies his 67 years. A successful banker and ruler of a 150 year-old dynasty, he must not only protect the present but guard the past from all revelation.

Sheriff Jonathon Renfro

past 40, he is sure of his job and his manhood. That could all change as he enters ever deeper into the dark world of Mayhew Manor. For him there is no greater word than duty, but to whom does that duty belong?

Clifford Brownell

30s, a charmer attractive to women of all ages and all time. He is eternal, only the body changes. We've all seen him in many places, for he is forever young and seductive. Destroy him today and he'll return stronger tomorrow.

Dr. Doloris Mayhew

BRAUM - 36. She has her mother's beauty and her father's strength, but not their love. A world-famous psychologist, she knows how to dress, how to succeed, but never how to relate. How does one receive love when they know not how to give it?

Agnes Mayhew

a lovely woman still referred to as "that rare beauty" at age 60. But for Agnes the metal torture of lost youth and betrayed love leaves her ever lost at 19, 39, and 59.
