Synopsis

Tod is the new boy in town, a teenager whose family is always on the move.

Infatuated with his sexy next door neighbor, he only succeeds in angering her athletic, beer-guzzling boyfriend and unintentionally attracting her precocious younger sister.

His pathetic attempts at romance endear him to his other new neighbor, Sybil, a Woodstock leftover and presumed witch, and the two of them begin an off-kilter relationship.

Sybil tends an herb garden, in the past a scene of secret tragedy and horror.

And it is here, in the mysterious Garden of the Witch, that Tod discovers the difference between being a friend and just fitting in.

The phenomenon of this play is that it combines spendid acting roles for teens with a funny, compasionate story for all ages.

In the Garden of the Witch has been honored by both the Choate Rosemary Hall Discovery Program and the Bonderman-IUPUI Youth Theatre Award.

Music published in script.
